SATNAV & Joakim Moesgaard

Sky Burial

Sky Burial is a life and death cycle that mirrors the way we (human beings, snails, cyanobacteria, otters, phytoplankton &c.) gradually make meaning of reality, filtered by our senses. Beings trying to get something resembling a grip on the world around them and inside them; the ways in which meaning is made as a gradual, but initially chaotic, process from looking at the tiny corner of the totality of reality that we each -- all living things -- get to occupy for a little lifetime; how a sense of understanding is continously formed and reformed over time, as we attempt to filter and organise our sensory impressions.

About the Artist

Joakim Moesgaard is a Danish interdisciplinary artist whose work sits at the intersection of electronic music, performance, 3D animation, audiovisual art, and experimental culture.

He is particularly associated with the Kolding/Triangle Region and the wider Danish experimental music and performance scene. His practice is deliberately hard to place in a single category: he works as a musician and electronic artist, but also creates visual and performative environments around sound.

Sebastian Zieler, who records as SATNAV, is a Danish electronic musician, producer, label founder, and multidisciplinary artist. He is also the co-founder of The Big Oil Recording Company, the Copenhagen-based independent label that has been an important platform for his own work and for a wider circle of experimental and alternative artists.
