Ke Yan

Concept & Creature Artist / 3D Generalist

The Godforsaken Acre is a 3D digital art project that reimagines classical romanticist landscape painting through the lens of dark fantasy, biopunk aesthetics, and contemporary real-time rendering workflows. Drawing direct inspiration from John Martin’s 1831 masterpiece The Fall of Babylon, this work seeks to translate the dramatic grandiosity, apocalyptic scale, and emotional weight of 19th-century oil painting into a fully realized three-dimensional digital space.

The core artistic narrative explores themes of fallen monumental structures, biological decay, and the visceral tension between organic anatomies and architectural decay. Rather than merely recreating a static image, the project expands the original composition into an atmospheric, storytelling-driven narrative space. Massive ruinous architecture is integrated with grotesque biopunk motifs, where twisted anatomical forms and alien flesh-like textures overtake ancient stone, evoking a sense of forgotten history and existential dread.
